Meheba Women's Center Project Coordinator Blog May 2009 (Note - This blog was written by the refugee Project Coordinator for this project. As English is not her first language, there may be some minor grammatical errors in her writing. Care was taken to clarify any passages that were confusing, while leaving most of the blog untouched in order to preserve her original tone.)

FORGE is doing a great job in Meheba Refugee Settlement which is helping a lot of single parent with some service skill which is really something that they thought they would never learn because some have never been to school.

The women are learning a lot of activities and survival skills like saving circle, a program where women are taught how to save money, so that it can help them when they are in need of money. Workshops on SGBV (sexual and gender based violence), reproductive health workshop to help them learn about the problem with their reproductive system. In addition to this, the Women Centre staff also offer vocational training in sewing and knitting to the women of Meheba in all the Blocks A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H.

This month, the Women Centre staffs also trained in Grasrooot Soccer on how to teach HIV/AIDS to young children and adults. How it is spread and how they can prevent themselves from getting HIV/AIDS.
