The Women Centre empowers women in Meheba through skill-building or vocations training, such as knitting and sewing. In addition to these, Women’s Centre has initiated saving circles to promote women to save their money. We do these to help the women to reduce dependence, poverty reduction, and send their children to school, through the skill they obtain from the Women’s Centre.
In addition to the skills, the Women’s Center also offers knowledge building workshops on different topics of health and human rights, educating the community on harmful effects of sexual and gender based violence (SGBV), providing a support network and safe-space for women through both casual and formal discussions. Also, the Centre encourages women to report cases of SGBV to UNHCR and the local authorities and provides support to victims of SGBV through informal counseling.
